Raising money for The Children’s Trust
For one week every year, through the sale of doughnuts, participating independent bakers across the UK will be helping to raise money for The Children's Trust, a national charity which provides care, education and therapy for children with multiple disabilities and complex health needs.
Leading bakery ingredients and products supplier CSM United Kingdom offers craft bakers all over the country the chance to increase sales, while raising money for charity, during the week.
National Doughnut Week, was founded by independent baker, Christopher Freeman from Crouch End, North London, and has raised an incredible total of £735,000 for children's charities with the sale of over 14 million doughnuts, since it was created in 1991. In 2005, The Children's Trust became the chosen charity and has received £225,000 from the fundraising event.
There are lots of fun ways for the general public to raise money: taking on a doughnut-eating challenge with friends or work colleagues, by holding a doughnut-themed event or simply by buying doughnut treats to share at a coffee break.
